oday i rode only one hour on my 7m sport, it's just too crazy out side, 6m waves with 35 to 40
knots.and it's suppose to be like that two or free days.o well , let's watch some dvd then.
Hello ,
yeah i finally got time (because of the storm) to write a little news from New Zealand: i'm actually in the lodge close to Wanaka lake with the crew of Boarder Patrol camps.
so since a week we had some pretty good conditions, mostly easterly wind , that means we had to discover new spots.
the first days we were snowkiting in Snowfarm, which is an amazing spot with lot's of rolling hills all over the place, then if the wind is really good, like ouest or north ouest wind, you can climb straight to the top of
Pisa range, where there's some beautifull lines to snowboard down, some big natural half pipe and nice jumps.and if you're tired to come back to the parking lot, you can either stay in one of the two huts around the spot
to have a little warm tee or cofee, or you can even sleep there to get ready for thenext morning.
We are 9 snowkiters , staying at this lodge, ready to jump in the vans to reach the best spots all around Queenstown and Wanaka .
we went already all over the place, like Cardrona ski resort and Trebol Cone , where you can choose to take the chair lift in case there's no wind.I had a good one in Cardrona, where the wind was easterly, so from the parking i went all over the ski resort , not on the slope for sure, but i manage to jump the half pipe and few big kickers when everybody were watching me from the chair lift and the biginners slope.
The new snowkiters or the campers were really amazed by what it's possible to do with a kite in the mountain, now i think they understood what is snowkiting all about.
as everyday Jon and me watching the early weather forecast , we decide to go for an another mission for two days , and sleep in this hut in Nevis ridge for the
night.
the aproch was pretty easy with the 4x4 to the hut, then we went straight to the spot in the first morning with two snowmobiles.the first hour was really foggy, but mother nature decide to give us a chance and the wind picked up and we had an amazing day again where i went for miles and miles all over the ridge, rode some really good lines.
We came back really late to the hut, made a good fire, eat, and sleep really quick to get ready for the next morning , but fuck it was cold in the morning.
then as we got no wind when we woke up, we went back down to Wanaka, but finally we decide to stop in Cardrona resort, where we got a pretty cool east wind again and few of us got pretty good airs.
Two days later after some crazy night partys, Jon , me and few guys went for another mission: as the wind decide to stay easterly for another week, which is pretty unsual, we had to search for another spot facing east ,so after an hour and an half, we found a really good road axcess, that we saw on google earth, thanks, and went up to the Old Man range, above the town call Alexandra.but we didn't see the potential of that spot, it was all white out.
so we organize everything for the next days, and got ready for an early morning call with all the crew.We reached the spot pretty early, we had the early morning
fog for two hours, then got the best clear days ever around here with a great 18 knots and pretty good snow. Once i got to the top the big hills , i saw one of the most amazing view , NZ style,
with huge valley all around and a huge plateau on front, there was big lines everywhere, cliffs, quarter pipe, huge half pipe , this kind of spot where you don't know where to go cause it's too
big.As usual we stoped at sunset came back to the lodge ,and i swear i slept like a baby.
i tell you one think , New zealnd have one of the best snowkiting potential around the world.this year i really saw it, but i need to come back for a full winter and do some more searching spots and road axcess.
With some spot in Europe, NZ is gonna be one of the best destination for snowkiting
it's just the beginning of a long story
thanks again to Jon, Greig, all the crew of Boarder Patrol to make it Happen.
check out the next video about the trip soon
have a good wind everybody

Chasta
hello everybody,
Hi all.
Here is a video about a high-mountain session we did, Chasta and me, from the Lautaret Pass, on the 12th february. Of course, you already know everthing about this kind of sessions. But this
video is due above all to the outdoor.tv websites where people definitely doesn’t know anything about snowkiting. We have to show them how great are the potentialities of snowkiting for the
high-mountain backcountry freeriding. We decided to show the smooth snowkiting action, easy, quiet, nothing dangerous in our movies now. The further Ozone videos are here to invite the people
from the mountains to discover and may be try the snowkiting sport. Here is the reason why nothing “extreme” is shown in this movie. I hope you won’t think that Chasta is no more extreme !!!
Look at the Ozone video
Thanks for your undestanding.
Cheers my friends.
