Chasta Snowkite Camps
1-8 August, 2009 Full Moon
8-15 August, 2009
29 August – 5 September 2009 Full Moon
Boarder Patrol’s Snowkite Camps are freewheeling adventures chasing the wind around the Southern Alps. We’ll pick you up at the airport on day 1 and deliver you back completely windblown on the last day. In between we’ll either stay in remote mountain huts where the kiting is right outside the door, or in Queenstown or Wanaka where we have access to the region’s nightlife. We have endless miles of flat and rolling terrain for beginners and freestyle sessions as well as steeper bowls and ridges to challenge those with more experience looking to push their limits.
The week will start with an opportunity to tune and transform the various kiting rigs for optimum use on the snow. The first session will be getting to know the terrain and riding abilities of the group. The camp is all about maximum progression for each person and having a blast. Ozone will be supplying demo gear including a range of 2010 kites just released! You’ll have the opportunity to try different kites and rigs and find what works best for your style of riding. Each day we will assess the conditions and pick terrain and missions appropriate to the various levels of riding within the group. The camp is open to beginners through to experienced snowkiters.

Check out a movie of Chasta in action…
Winter is almost over, but when all kiters are thinking about water already, here in the alps ,the Lautaret crew are still in action. Actually today it's snowing again for two days on the forecast and since 3 weeks we were on easterly flow with great temperatures, which you can imagine we were on the search for new spots almost everyday.
And since a week ,Kailea is on holydays school, and imagine now that every morning she ask me "where is the wind", that feel so good to know she's on the same trip than us, sometimes she even check the forecast for us.
Kailea is getting so much better with the kite, but at the moment she's staying on ski, i think i should wait until she get really confident until using her snowboard.Cause for sure i think on our home spot, because of the steep, it's way easier to learn on ski.
she's using her 4 m and 6m axcess most of time , and it gets really windy , like 20 ,25 knots, she use her 2m Imp. Yesterday she did her first jump, but it was by accident, because i was on her way she said, so now she wants to learn jumping, mamamiaaaa, it's not gonna be easy.
Her mum Titaua got the same best moment in our mountains, she ride almost everyday now, using the frenzy 11 and 9m most of time, and i tell this, she's just ripping up there, and ready to go back to the big waves yet.
then 4 days ago we'd the chance to ride on the glacier in la Grave, conditions are so good that you can jump (or i can jump) everywhere around, i can't wait for next session, but hurry up, the resort should close on the 4th of May.
I tell I'm so glad i discovered this sport ten years ago, i did so much new lines, discovering, some crazy freestyle, now with the perfect conditions we have , all the ski resort are closing, but i know i'm able to ride any where i want until all the snow is gone. I'm still so excited to ride more ,cause now they're working on the road axcess to all the pass around and it's promising to us some of the best riding again.
yepaaaaaaaaa
so have good wind everybody, and take some waves for me, i'm comiiiinnngggg
